Signed Fine Art Print of Three Giant Butterfly Moths

I chose to paint these moths based on personal experience. Over many years of field work in Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico, I have seen castniids on fewer than 5 occasions, zipping around alongside a sunny jungle road or trail. They are big and beautiful day-flying moths that are sometimes called "giant butterfly moths." This is a beautiful giclee print of a group of moths that most people will never see in nature.

This painting faithfully and precisely reproduces the beautiful colors and striking design of the insects I have pursued and studied since childhood. My style is inspired by that of my grandfather, Arthur Cushman, a noted illustrator who worked for the Smithsonian Institution and the USDA, whose paintings and drawings helped set the standard for scientific illustration in the mid 20th century.
